Adrien almost can’t believe that Piper would actually leave her window unlocked like she said she would, but even more unbelievable is the speed with which he detransforms, practically making himself at home as he flops onto the very same couch he was offered before.
“Wha— the McLeans’? Dude, did you break in?”
Plagg is quick to fly eagerly towards Adrien’s face after being released from the ring and getting his bearings.
“Nope,” Adrien answers curtly. “It was open. She’s expecting me—we are going to talk.”
“Oh,” Plagg replies. Given that they are trusted partners, and Adrien is pretty open to him about his feelings and goings-on in his life, he doesn’t have to explain much. Plagg goes on: “Say no more, friend. I’ll just leave you humans to your......human... problems.”
“...Thanks, bud. Catch up with you later.”
Adrien doesn’t know where he disappears to whenever this happens, but he always finds his way back at the right time. Also! He’s pretty sure Camembert is involved, but that’s besides the point.
He shifts his body, turning so that he’s facing the ceiling as he mulls over what he’s going to say, and how. He pulls out his phone; the screen is so bright against the darkness of the room that he has to squint his eyes, but he endures it to send Piper a message. ]

be there in ten. just grabbing the last stragglers.
[ She'd stayed behind to help account for everyone and provide a cover story for Adrien, maybe not strictly necessary. She'd have done the same for Marinette, but expected that would draw way too much suspicion. It's amazing as it is that it hasn't occurred to Adrien to ask if she knew Ladybug's identity, but then she supposes he'd have no reason to think she did.
STILL a mystery how NO ONE has connected the dots yet but her, but okay.
