❄ baby, it's cold outside
[ The Bourgeouis Pre-Christmas Celebration Bash.
With a cool, over the top name like that, there was no way it wouldn't be fun, and Adrien had to go hard convincing both Nathalie and his father to let him go. In the end though, despite him being used to most invasions of his personal space, he is tired.
He has run out of excuses to give, honestly. He has run out of ways to duck the mistletoe, even from the sweetest of girls (Marinette), and the not so sweet (Chloe). And if he eats anymore sweets that were made ~~just for him~~, he's going to burst. Not to mention gain weight, which his father would really, really, really not like.
...He was doing a pretty good job enduring all of this, or so he thought, but every once and a while he catches Piper's eye. No big deal. He recovers from the fatigue quickly and puts on his act. He smiles and waves, as per his usual fare; and as one of the few girls adamantly respecting his space tonight, her company is definitely welcome, which helps.
As soon as he approaches her, though, he finds himself catching her as she faints, and he nearly drops her from the surprise. ]
Wh-Whoa! Piper?
[ It takes him a moment to recover the concentration and strength needed to support her. What the heck?? ]

This is like a PG-rated game of chicken, with less touching (and obviously less gay). Adrien feels his cheeks warm, but he doesn’t let that distract him. He is absolutely coaxing her onto shore if she will let him, because with all this talk of falling in, he feels like they’ve been in limbo long enough.
He will also take the initiative in reeling in the boat so that they can drag it back to the pile where they got it. Anything to keep busy. ]
I like your pawsitive cattitude.
But... did I just accidentally ask you out, or was it you?

Once the boat is back in place- or as they get it there at least -Piper laughs again, the sound trailing in a way that sounded more relaxed than most teenagers had any right to be in this situation. She dusts the snow off her gloves and as one of her only real signs of uncertainty she's unsure what to do with her hands at first.
She settles, reluctantly, on putting them in her pockets. She'd actually really like to give holding his a try but they... aren't really- where do they even STAND right now? ]
Well I mean, if we're keeping track? You're leading two-to-one.

... If we're keeping track...

...sort of.
He speaks airily and casually as they walk, and he also sticks his hands in his pockets when he noticed her do it. ]
Guess I don’t actually win until you say yes.

Neither of us actually wins until we intentionally and officially ask the other out on a date. I might beat you to it, still. [ She throws back just as easily, not scornful but factual, confidently so, smiling almost breezily comfortably. No more "accidentally asking" one another out. No more "not-dates". ]
So from now on, since we're on the same page, next time it counts for real. Deal?

His competitive spirit is definitely piqued, and he grins at her. It is almost a smirk, because I might beat you to it still. Please. ]
Challenged accepted.
But first? That hot chocolate.
[ Feelings!!! Dates! Ha!! He has his priorities, okok. ]

Hot chocolate. [ It's ON, blondie. ]
